Domestic scheduled passenger and cargo. Airline was formed in September 1995 by former Philippine Airlines employees after air traffic deregulation in the Philippines. Flights commenced in April 1996 with DHC-7 aircraft between Manila and Malay (Boracay Island). Airline was initialy run as an employee cooperative but changed into corporation in 1998. In March 2008 AMY Holdings Ltd. (Alfred M Yao) took control of the airline and changed its identity to Zest Airways. Airline operates domestic network as well as international flights to Seoul, Macau and Sandakan. Airline plans to expand to Bangkok and Singapore. Merged into Philippines AirAsia Jan 2016
