Airline was formed after demise of SABENA to partialy take over its operations. It is a fusion of Delta Air Transport (regional subsidiary of SABENA) with some of the assets of defunct SABENA. Airline retained most of SABENA's European service using former DAT BAe 146 (Avro) regional jet fleet and for its African network, former Sabena Airbus A330s are used. Some flights (London) are also operate in cooperation with VLM. New airline retained "S" logo of SABENA as well as the IATA code SN. Airline begun to serve 35 destinations. Airline merged with Virgin Express on March 31 2006 and by November 2006 new airline Brussels Airlines was formed gradually absorbing SN Brussels Airlines. Transition was completed by April 2007.
