Airline was launched in December 2000 from remnants of defunct Reguljair whose AOC was revoked earlier that year. Airline was relaunched as Nordic East Airlink dba Flynordic.com. Nordic Airlink commenced charter operations on February 24th 2001 between Stockholm and Grenoble using MD-81 leased from Crossair. In November 2003 Finnair acquired majority shares, increasing its share to 100% in May 2004. In October 2004 company was re-branded as FlyNordic. It entered bankruptcy in 2005, but continued to operate. Airline adopted low-cost model since operating scheduled passenger flights from Stockholm to Oslo, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Umea and Lulea. Soon international destinations were added. Copenhagen, Talinn, Warswa, Krakow, Paris (ORY), Nice, Sarajevo, Dubrovnik, Geneva, Istanbul, Alicante and Malaga were served. In April 2007 Norwegian acquired the company and integrated it into its brand on April 5, 2008.
