note
Clinton Aero was the commuter airline arm of the Plattsburgh, NY FBO. It began airline operations on October 1, 1982 serving the Adirondack cities which were originally served by Colonial Airlines, then Eastern, then Mohawk, and finally Air North. The airline was acquired by Brockway Corp. in 1984 and on June 1, changed the airline name to Brockway Air. Then on October 1, the airline was merged with another Brockway acquisition, Air North. In early 1986, with Piedmont Airlines entering the northeast through its acquisition of Empire, Brockway became a Piedmont Commuter. In April 1989, Brockway's new owner, Owens-Illinois, elected to exit the airline business, and sold Brockway Air to Metro Airlines. On July 1, the name was changed to Metro Air Northeast, and its code-share changed to TWA Express. With a new route network that focused on Boston, and big competition in that market already, the airline became unsuccessful. It ceased operations in February 1991; its losses contributed to Metro Airlines bankruptcy in April 1991. Many of Metro Air Northeast's planes landed with Business Express.
