Trans Western Airlines began operations in 1977 ans a joint venture between four corporations. It provided scheduled service between Logan, Salt Lake City, and Grand Junction with Piper Navajos. Moab, Blanding, Provo, and Vernal were later added, but ended in 1980. In 1981 it was reorganized into a single corporation. On October 29, 1981 it received its CAB certificate, and soon added Sun Valley. It eventually served three additional points in Idaho as well as Jackson Hole, Wyoming. In December 1983, the carrier was acquired by Horizon Air and was eventually merged into the larger carrier by mid-1984
