Hood began operations in 1965 with flights between Dallas and Killeen (Ft. Hood), billing itself as The World's Smallest Airline. Merged with DAL Airlines on May 23, 1968, with Hood as the surviving name. Became Rio Airways on March 15, 1970. Merged with Davis Airlines in November 1977. Became a Delta Connection carrier from June 1, 1984, to December 14, 1986, before briefly operating as Braniff Express until shutdown on February 28, 1987.
