note
The airline was established by Carl Arnold Lawrence Morberg and started operations in 1962 as a small charter carrier. It grew, taking over Transair passenger service in the Northwest Territories in 1976 and many of the passenger and cargo routes of Lamb Air in 1981. In 1987, Canadian Airlines acquired a 45% holding in the company. On April 8, 2009 Calm Air was purchased by the Exchange Income Corporation (EIC) who also owns Perimeter Aviation, Keewatin Air and Bearskin Airlines. Calm Air operates scheduled airline service throughout Manitoba and Hudson Bay coast of Nunavut.
