Scheduled passenger and cargo airline based at Xian. Company was established in December 1989 along with 6 other regional airline that were under control of CAAC (China Civil Aviation Authority) during the 1990s but also owned by local governments. Although primarily domestic airline, CNA introduced international service in 1998. Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea were served. Airline was ordered to merge with China Eastern Airlines which has been under state control at the time as a part of consolidation of airline industry by Chinese authorities.
