Began operation operating a Navajo between Cincinnati and Cleveland. Company went public in 1981. Comair became Delta Connection carrier in 1984 and was acquired by Delta in October 1999. In September 2005 Delta Air Lines entered bankruptcy protection bringing Comair into bankruptcy court. Comair opened its second hub at JFK in New York in 2006. It has over $1billion in revenue annually. Comair on-time performance was one of the worst in the industry giving the name bad publicity. It also had to cope with labor disputes, high fuel prices and cost cutting measures that reduced workforce nearly in half from its peak. Delta started to contract some of the Comair's flights to ASA and Chautauqua. Finally in September 2012 Delta Air Lines decided to shut Comair down and last flight was operated on the 29th from Jacksonville to Minneapolis.
