Low cost scheduled passanger airline operating flights between New Zealand and cities and resorts in Eastern Australia, Fiji. Airline also served domestic network for short period. Freedom Air was formed by Mount Cook Airlines and innitialy named South Pacific Air Charters. Operations commenced in December 1995 with a leased 757. Air New Zealand became 100% owner of Freedom Air when it purchased Mount Cook Airlines. ANZ decided to integrate Freedom Air into its own brand.
