Private scheduled passenger airline, subsidiary of Juneyao Group which was founded in 1991 by Wang JuneYao and his brothers. Company operated first private air charter in China between Changsha and Wenzhou.
Although company diversified into retail (Grand Orient Department Store and car dealership in Wuxi) and service sectors including travel agency, its air transport division remains key business focus. In 2002, Juneyao Group purchased 18% stake in Wuhan Co. Ltd which own China Eastern Airlines and is state owned enterprise. In June 2005 Juneyao Group established its own airline JuneYao Airlines. In September 2006, JuneYao Airlines started operations. At first only domestic destinations were served. In December 2010 Hong Kong was added to its schedule later joined by Macau. Company serves 32 domestic destinations from its base at Shanghai. Company has been profitable since its inception achieving revenues of over 3 billion yuan in 2010 while carrying over 3,5 million passengers with load factor of 86%.
In 2011 airline applied for Shanghai - Sapporo regional route.
