CPZ CP Compass Airlines Compass Rose USA United States

note

Compass was launched as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Northwest Airlines in order to operate 70-seat (class) aircraft outside of its pilot union contract. It acquired the DOT certificate of bankrupt Independence Air and received its DOT authority on September 26, 2006. After receiving FAA approval on April 5, 2007, it commenced operations on May 2, 2007 between Minneapolis and Washington (Reagan National). It became a subsidiary of Delta Air Lines when Delta acquired Northwest in 2008, and became a Delta Connection carrier in February 2010. In July 2010 it was sold to Trans States Holdings which operates it separately from sister Trans States Airlines. In summer 2014 it began operating several American Airlines-owned ERJ 175s for American Eagle.
