note
Vee Neal Airlines, established in 1979 by Vee Neal Frey in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, began scheduled services in May 1980, operating flights between Latrobe and Pittsburgh using a Cessna 402 and later Bandeirantes.
In December 1983, after acquiring British Aerospace Jetstream 31 aircraft, the airline rebranded as Jetstream International Airlines (JIA). By September 1985, JIA had secured a partnership with Piedmont Airlines, operating as a Piedmont Commuter carrier. Piedmont purchased JIA in 1986. Following USAir's acquisition of Piedmont in 1987, JIA became a USAir Express carrier.
On November 1, 1995, JIA was renamed PSA Airlines to preserve the Pacific Southwest Airlines trademark, which USAir had purchased in 1987. PSA Airlines continued to operate under US Airways Express and later transitioned to American Eagle in 2015 following the US Airways-American Airlines merger. It is now a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group, operating CRJ-200, -700, and -900 aircraft.
