Scheduled domestic passenger and cargo airline. Linjeflyg was founded by SAS, Stockholms-Tidningen AB and Dagens Nyheter AB (Aerotransport AB). Airline took over contracts of Airtaco and operated Douglas DC-3s and Lockheed Lodestars. In January 1960 first Convair CV-440 joined the fleet. First jet, a Fokker F28 was delivered in May 1973 and from that time, Linjeflyg was loyal Fokker customer. Airline's main business was domestic service, serving over 20 points in Sweden, but also undertook holiday charter work to resorts in Southern Europe. SAS held 50% stake in the airline thoughout most of its existence. In 1992 it purchased remaining shares and integrated it into its brand. At the time, Linjeflyg was largest domestic airline in Sweden.
