PEL OT Aeropelican Air Services Pelican Australia

note

Established in 1968 by Keith (Dalkeith) Hilder and started operations in 1971, Aeropelican was a regional airline based in Newcastle that operated scheduled service from Belmont / Aeropelican airport, which Keith Hilder established in 1959. In 1980, the company was sold to Masling Airlines but continued to operate under its brand as a feeder for Ansett Airlines. After Ansett collapsed in 2001, Aeropelican became part of International Air Parts in April 2002 and entered into a commercial agreement with REX Airlines in 2003 to operate scheduled service from Sydney to Newcastle RAAF base at Williamstown. It was merged into Brindabella Airlines in 2013.
