Austria's largest regional airline was established in the fall 2003 when Austrian Airlines acquired Tyrolean Airways. Tyrolean Airways was rebranded to Austrian Arrows to better convey its association with Austrian. Austrian Airlines dropped "Airlines" from its name. Austrian Airlines Group has become organizational umbrela for Austrian Arrows, Austrian and Lauda.
