OceanAir was a Brazilian airline with headquarters in São Paulo and was set up as an air taxi company to serve oil companies in the Campos basin. In 2002 the company began a cargo business and is no considered to be the number one Brazilian regional airline, operating in 36 cities and 14 states in Brazil. OceanAir owns since 2004, through its parent Synergy Group (German Efromovich), Colombian airline Avianca and 49 percent of Ecuador's Wayraperu and VIP SA, as well as being a shareholder in Nigeria's Capital Airlines and OceanAir Taxi Aereo. Airline launched in 2007 international flights to Mexico City using Boeing 767 but these have been discontinued after couple months. Airline focused on domestic market and coordinated its schedule to feed its sister company Avianca at São Paulo-Guarulhos. In March 2010 trade name Avianca Brasil was adopted for OcenaAir's domestic scheduled operations. On 10 December 2018, Avianca Brazil filed for bankruptcy protection.
