Although Corsair was founded as Corse Air International, its present form can be traced to the acquisition of the airline by French largest tour operator Nouvelles Frontieres in 1989 season. Since then, the present livery and importance of the airline formed. Airline was formed in Corsica by Rossi family.
Nouvelles Frontiers were acquired by TUI Travel Group in 2000 and Corsair became part of TUI. Airline changed its corporate identity to Corsairfly but its core business remained the same. Airline operates scheduled leisure flights from Nantes, Paris (Orly), Lyon, Toulouse and Marseilles to holiday destinations in Indian Ocean and the Caribbean. Corsair also operates charter flights to Canada and rest of the world.
