Established by TAM Linhas Aereas Regional of Brazil and commenced operations in May 1995 using 3 Cessna 208 Caravans transferred from TAM's cargo division TAM Express S.A. Airline operated domestic network, but also served Ayolas and Filadelfia in neighboring Argentina. In September 1996 TAM bought controlling interest in flag carrier LAPSA. In December 2002 TAM merged ARPA into TAM Mercosur which eventually became TAM Airlines Paraguay.
