HAS Hazelton Air Services

note

Independent regional airline founded by Max Hazelton in 1953 as air charter operator using Auster Aiglet aircraft. Air charter business turned into regional airline in 1975 when first scheduled service between Orange NSW and Canberra was commenced. Airline's first turbojet was Embraer EMB-110. In 1990s Kendell begun its cooperation with Asnett Australia and eventually operated all its flights on behalf of Ansett. After Ansett's collapse in 2001, Hazelton was sold off and its new owner merged it with another feeder airline of Ansett - Kendell Airlines to form REX Regional Express on June 1, 2002.
