In 2011 the cargo traffic between China and Europe decreased sharply putting pressure on already weak carrier. Reduction in capacity did not outpaced drop in demand due to world recession and airline ceased operations on December 30th 2011. Aircraft parked at Shenzhen Ba'oan airport but never flew again for JI. Company stated on its website that the cessation is temporary but this was not be the case since the airline missed its first restart date in January 2012 and postponed relaunch indefinitely leading to the permanent closure of the carrier.
