National airline of Denmark and oldest airline in the world. Airline began operations in August 1920 with a Flugzeugbau Friedrichshafen 49c. aircraft on Copenhagen - Malmo - Warnemünde route. In 1946 DDL has began cooperation with DNL of Norway ABA and Svensk Interkontinental Lufttrafik which in 1950 culminated in formation of SAS. All airlines coordinated their schedule. The long haul flights to South America on Buenos Aires, Montevideo, Rio de Janeiro, Natal, Dakar, Lisbon and Copenhagen were flown by DDL as well as East Africa route from Nairobi to Khartoum, Cairo, Rome and Copenhagen. The route to New York via Prestwick and Gander was flown in cooperations with DNL, SILA as Scandinavian Airlines System flight.
