Founded as a charter airline, Air Link commenced scheduled airline service in 1991 serving Bourke, Cobar, Coonamble, Walgett and Lightning Ridge from Dubbo. In 2003 flights to Sydney commenced using Beech 1900 airliner.
In Novmeber 2005 REX Group, parent of REX Regional Express, acquired Air Link but continues to operate it under its brand. In December 2008 AIR LINK discontinued its scheduled service and focuses on its core business - charters throughout Australia and aircraft maintenance.
Company is owned and managed by David Miller who also served as a Director of REX Regional Airlines until 2011.
