National airline of Costa Rica was founded as joined venture of Pan American World Airways, Costa Rica goverment and local businessmen. Airline operates International network out of its hub in San Jose. Domestic service has been spun off in 1959 when SANSA was formed.
Airline has become part of Grupo TACA which is minority shareholder. All flights are operated under TACA/LACSA brand since 1998.
