Nashville Eagle began operations as the first AMR-owned American Eagle carrier. It acquired certain assets of Air Midwest, including several Metroliners which were operating at American's Nashville hub, and began operations in January 1988. In May 1988, it acquired AVAir which was operated American Eagle services at the Raleigh/Durham hub. Nashville Eagle was merged with Command Airways in 1991 to become Flagship Airlines.
