Command began operations in 1966. The airline expanded very carefully into some key business markets in New York State as well as to Boston, and by the late 1970s was operating two Twin Otters, two Beech 99s, and two Shorts 330s. On April 27, 1986 it became an American Eagle carrier, for the purpose of feeding American at New York (JFK). On September 28, 1988, it was acquired by AMR. On June 1, 1991, it was merged with Nashville Eagle to form Flagship Airlines.
