Founded by Oliver Parks initially to operate airline service as part of Parks College flight training program. In 1947 airline won bidding on contract air mail route AM-91 as well as passenger service from St Louis downtown airport to neighboring states. Parks Air Lines never started the service and by 1949 sold the routes to Mid-Continent Airlines. Ozark Air Lines which needed the CAB certificate purchased Parks Air Lines in September 1950 and started operations with their certificate.
